Access Medical Centers clinics in Tulsa have been competing to create the best pediatric room, and voters from the Tulsa community have chosen the Riverside Clinic’s “Toy Story Room” as the winner.
Teams from six clinics participated in the challenge, and voting took place on the Access Medical Centers Facebook page throughout the month of December. Nearly 400 individuals voted, choosing the Toy Story Room (172 Votes) as the overwhelming winner, followed by the Finding Nemo Room (84 votes).
According to Kristy Davis, RN, the team at Riverside wanted to choose a theme that would appeal to both boys and girls, and would be very interactive. The room is great for entertaining children while waiting for the doctor, complete with Barrel of Monkeys, Etch a Sketch and a Spaceship bed. Doing the project was not only good for the patients, but was a great team-building experience. The response from patients and their families has been excellent. If the kids can stay happy while they wait, then parents will be happy, too!
