FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Rapid Testing Expansion is the latest addition to NextCare’s variety of testing options
MESA, AZ (May 21, 2020) – NextCare, one of the nation’s leading providers of urgent care medicine and occupational health services, announced in early April 2020, that it would begin using Rapid COVID-19 point of care technology, initially in select Colorado clinics, to be followed with expansion in other markets. In just over 30 days, NextCare has expanded this effort at select locations in most markets.
The Rapid COVID-19 testing is groundbreaking in both its design and efficiency. The machine will allow patients to receive their test and results in as little as 15 minutes. If the patient is positive for COVID-19, a result can be known in as little as 5 minutes and if a patient is negative for COVID-19, a result can be known as soon as 13 minutes.
The efficiency of Rapid COVID-19 Testing is helpful in not only allowing the patient to know their specific result, but the speed of the test allows our healthcare professionals to make appropriate and more efficient treatment and infection control decisions
“The initial rollout of Rapid COVID-19 testing has proven to be one of our most effective tools in serving our communities during this pandemic. The expansion of this effort will help keep NextCare at the forefront of diagnosing and treating patients for COVID-19 in all of our markets,” commented CEO John Julian.
In addition to the expansion of Rapid COVID-19 testing, NextCare and its family of brands offer both COVID-19 PCR swab testing and COVID-19 Antibody testing at all 135 locations. While rapid testing has been an important initiative, NextCare is committed to providing a comprehensive offering of COVID-19 testing options. At locations unable to offer Rapid COVID-19 testing, if a patient meets a provider-determined criteria, we are able to order a COVID-19 sample collection to be sent to a certified lab where final results are determined.
NextCare is also offering COVID-19 Antibody testing at all locations. COVID-19 Antibody testing is an important tool we can provide to our patients, which will help them to know if they may have had COVID-19 previously, and potentially identify the people they could have possibly put at risk. The complexity of the virus makes antibody testing very important, especially for those who may have had the virus and been asymptomatic.
